This is not a post about my believes and predictions... if you want that say so and I'll post another note with those. If you know me you know I tend to be pretty calm and articulate about them no matter what I advocate. No, this note is about the reports of riots and near riots across the countries high school and college campuses. What I have found out so far is that Miss St's campus has calmed down. Most said it isnt as volital as it was last night. East Miss Comm College is almost under martial law. Scooba Police have been called in to maintain order. I have heard similar reports at Pelahatchie AC in Pelahatchie, MS. I now have reports that violence HAS broken out at the University of Southern Mississippi. Obama supporters began celebrating and soon turned to riot. Several gunfights here reported between rioters and law enforcement officers. Matters got worse when the mob was answered by several White Supremest mobs retaliating. No news stories yet. There may not be as this is in Mississippi so we generally dont get much public attention. I got these reports from students on these different campuses, and calm levelheaded students at that.

Whether or not they are true, it would be wise to exercise caution. Thus I have prepared this list of good advice I urge you all to follow.

1. Don't let rumors affect your daily routine. Life must go on. If you are concerned. Investigate and find out for yourself what is really going on.

2. Be aware of your surroundings. Dont get caught with your pants down.

3.Trust your gut feelings and instincts. If you dont feel safe somewhere, DON'T STAY THERE! or DONT GO THERE!

4. If someone tries to start trouble with you, dont let them. Dont be the catalyst people need to light a potential powder keg.

5. REMAIN CALM! REMAIN CALM! This probably should have been #1, but oh well, we will soldier on through. If you remain calm, your calm energies will help to stabilize everything. At the very least you will avoid a lot of trouble

6. IF you are that worried, do what you have to do, then go home. You will be safe at home.

Remember people... Dont be stupid. If you voted Obama, congrats, BUT Take a like from Jessica Ball's note, dont celebrate too loudly. McCain was a gracious loser, be a gracious winner. Remember, your reaction could be how this election is remembered. If you riot and start fights and destroy stuff, how will history look upon the start of Obama's term in office? Not favorably. So celebrate, but be respectful of the losers (there were more than two candidate's running). Dont cause trouble. Let this unite us. Not tear us apart. If violence breaks out than any progress in equality made by his election will be nullified if not widen the gap. so be smart. and BE NICE!
